CBD 101
CBD stands for cannabidiol. Although found in many other plants, CBD occurs in higher concentrations in the Cannabis Sativa L. (hemp) plant. CBD is just one of the over 113 cannabinoids found in hemp and is known for its therapeutic and healing properties, but without the THC mind-altering effects or “high” for the person using it.
Your endocannabinoid system (ECS) helps regulate things like your appetite, stress levels, energy, sleep, and even more processes central to your well-being. This is why millions of people go the route of taking hemp-derived CBD to safely supplement their daily wellness routine. Our bodies continually make their own cannabinoids that are released when we perform any positive wellness-related activity. Long runs, nature walks, meditation, even singing to your favorite song while driving. And when life doesn’t allow you the freedom to take part in these “feel-good” activities, that’s what CBD is there for - to help support your ECS and keep you on schedule with your daily wellness routine.
We take your wellness seriously and want to help you make the best informed decision for your specific need. Here are a few things you should be looking for before purchasing any CBD product.
DOSING
We all have the same question…”How much CBD Oil should I take?”
Long story short, start low and go slow. Each individual’s experience can be influenced by several factors like age, diet, weight, physical activity, and the body’s ability to absorb its components.
Though there is no definite dosing scale, we recommend starting with this scale below and altering it as needed.
Low Strength- 1mg per 10 lbs.
Medium Strength- 3mg per 10 lbs.
High Strength- 6mg per 10 lbs.
UNDERSTANDING DISTILLATION METHODS
Valor Craft Performance products are produced from the entire hemp plant (including the flower) and are all full-spectrum products. Full-spectrum essentially means that the product contains all of the naturally occurring cannabinoids that exist within the hemp plant, as nature intended. But that’s not all. Full-spectrum products also contain components like terpenes.
But what about THC? While full-spectrum products do contain trace amounts of THC, the total amount is not enough to induce any psychoactive effects. Valor full-spectrum hemp-derived CBD products are laboratory tested twice to ensure they contain no more than 0.3% THC.
There are benefits to the product containing all of the naturally occurring cannabinoids found in the hemp plant because it means the product will produce something that is referred to as an “entourage effect.” The entourage effect refers to the general effectiveness of the product due to the synergistic nature in which the cannabinoids and terpenes interact with one another.
THIRD PARTY TESTING
At Valor Craft we go to great lengths to ensure our farmers and processors use the best practices and maintain the highest standards possible. All of our products are tested twice: once at the origin and once when it arrives in the U.S. An independent, third-party testing laboratory confirms that the product is free from pesticides, heavy metals, microbials, residual solvents, or other contaminants. The lab results will also indicate which cannabinoids were detected, and how much of each of those cannabinoids was present in the lab sample. Finally, to promote complete transparency we make all testing results available to our consumers via QR code on each product. You can find the results for your product here.
PRODUCTS MADE WITH MCT OIL
A lot of hemp derived products are made with MCT oil because they are known to be a dynamic-duo. This oil is made from a type of fat called medium-chain triglycerides. This carrier oil allows you to absorb CBD more easily, because CBD is a fat-soluble compound and is best absorbed when taken with saturated fats, like MCT oil. It also preserves cannabinoids and terpenes longer. Our carrier oil (MCT oil) is USDA organic.
